What is the Roseville Community Like?
It is late on Thursday night and I (Mrs H) have been thinking about the fact that we have a big day tomorrow. The new girls who are joining our school next year are coming to visit for Orientation Day. For the current Year 3 girls this will mean an afternoon in Year 4 (with Miss K) and meeting the new girls who will become a part of their group next year. For the upcoming Year 3s it will mean an afternoon of making new friends and finding out what exciting adventures lie ahead next year.
Then I started thinking about our HSIE unit for this term: Living in Communities. We have been looking at what a community is and the benefits we get from being a part of different communities. At orientation last year, we had a group of approximately 2o girls who were coming up from Year 2 and about 15 new girls who were coming to Roseville for the very first time. Most of them didn’t really know anyone and they were quiet, scared girls. Here we are, a year later, and this group of girls has become a wonderful community. They are friends, they look after each other, they play together and work together. They are a fabulous group of girls!
So, here is my challenge to you: If you are a current Year 3 student, tell us what the great benefits have been for you as a part of the Year 3 Roseville community and if you are one of the girls who is joining us next year, feel free to tell us what you are looking forward to when you come to Roseville next year.
We can’t wait to hear your ideas and we can’t wait to meet the new girls tomorrow!

Roseville is a great community. We make friends with everyone easily because all the students are super kind! The teachers help everyone, even all the new girls they don’t really know yet. Being in Roseville College is like a day at the fun-park!

I have had such a great year so far. I have learnt so many things this year and I know in Term 4 in Science we are learning about the human body.

Being at Roseville was easy for me because my sister was already there. I loved it when I found out that Justine lives around the corner from me, I wish she had started in Kindy. Now I’m leaving Roseville and I’m scared about going to my new school in Melbourne, but I can’t wait.

I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed being a part of the Roseville community, Holly and I’m sure that your classmates at your new school will think that you are just as fabulous as we do! You will have to keep your blog going and make sure that we all still have the address so that we can comment on it next year. We can’t wait to hear all about what it is like to settle into a new community. Mrs H.

I have enjoyed year 3 so far. The girls and the teachers have been nice to us from beginning to end. There were 15 new girls and we all made friends really fast. In Science we’re looking at the human body and talking and listening is helping us be better public speakers. Last term, in HSIE, we learned about different religions. This year we were involved in the string program where you have the choice to play a cello, violin or viola. We could choose to be be in the choir and it’s fun but needs hard work. Other than that we have some opportunities to join groups like Crusaders, Chess Club and Drama Club. In Year Three we experience NAPLAN, and more homework.
This term we will going to camp and that is sooooooooo exciting.

Roseville College is a great community and I hope that all of the new girls coming to Roseville will have a great day at Orientation Day. Unfortunately, last year I did not get to visit for Orientation Day because I was not enrolled! Why we were in Miss Kleem’s class, because Mrs McKeith had no one to teach, she came up to help us with the activities. We got to introduce ourselves to the new girls and we took a trip to the most important places (the bathroom and the bubblers) After Lunch, We were split up into groups. One of our groups played a game about keeping fit which was called “Getting Active” while the other group did a fun crafty activity with Mrs McKeith. We had about 3 new girls coming to visit.
One of the benefits I received about coming to Roseville College was that all of the girls who had come up from Roseville College in Year 2 were kind to me and as most of them had never seen me before as I didn’t come to Orientation Day, they all made me feel welcome and like I had been there for years. I made so many friends so quickly!

We learnt a lot. The teachers are really kind and there are loads of friends to be friends with. The teachers teach you a lot of knowledge. The teachers make maths, science, grammar and… fun so you won’t get bored.

It is wonderful to be a part of the Roseville community. I have had a great time in year 3 with our new expanded class and new friends. It has made learning more enjoyable and we have two wonderful teachers. Now it is term 4, which is racing past and soon we will be at camp. This is very exciting and I am looking forward to going.
Last Friday we had an orientation day where all the new girls came to see our wonderful school. It will be terrific to welcome some more new members into year 4.

It has been great being part of the Roseville College community after almost 4 years at Roseville College . The teachers are very kind, they talk us through all of the complicated things so we can understand hard questions and the make the lessons really interesting so we won’t get bored.Everyone is kind to each other, cares about each other, and loves each other. I think the Roseville College community is the best.

Hi year 3. One of the reasons its good to be part of the Roseville yr3 community is that all of the girls are so kind and its easy to fit in. There are so many wonderful teachers who can teach you lots of different things, and you always feel welcome. I’ve loved being in my small class (3M), but also love it when the whole of yr3 gets together for subjects like maths. We laugh and have a fun time, but we also learn a lot. Both of the teachers are loving and kind and always happy to help you.
One especially good thing this year has been being able to have the opportunity to learn a string instrument. I’m loving the cello and I will continue with it next year. Playing as a year 3 string ensenble is another great way of being together.

It is wonderful that so many of you have been able to think of lots of great benefits to be a part of the Roseville community. I love the glogsters which you have all done which name some of these benefits as well.
